About Tonya Newton
Hi, I’m Tonya Newton, LCSW. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, ADHD coach, and someone who personally understands the unique challenges that come with living in a world that often feels overwhelming.
I became an ADHD coach after years of working in the mental health field and realizing how many individuals were struggling not because of who they are, but because they hadn’t been given tools that truly fit their brains. As someone who is AuDHD (autistic + ADHD), I know firsthand the difference that compassionate support and practical strategies can make.
My journey combines both professional training and personal experience. That blend helps me support clients not just from theory, but from a place of lived understanding.

My approach is direct yet compassionate, centered on helping you gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself. I create a calm, supportive space where you can explore your experiences without pressure or judgment. Whether we are working individually or together, the focus is always on strengthening awareness, building practical tools, and supporting real change in your daily life.
I draw from a blend of evidence-based approaches to meet you where you are:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and actions, and gives you tools to shift unhelpful patterns.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Focuses on helping you accept your internal experiences while taking meaningful steps toward the life you want to build.
Psycho-Educational Therapy
Provides clear information and guidance to help you understand your patterns, your nervous system, and the tools that can support you.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Supports emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier communication, especially during overwhelming moments.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Encourages self-discovery and supports you in finding your own motivation for change, without pressure or judgment.
Trauma-Focused Therapies
Offers gentle, grounded support for understanding and healing the impact of past experiences at your pace.
Aftercare Planning
Ensures you leave each phase of work with clarity, structure, and a personalized plan to support your growth moving forward.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Brings awareness to the present moment, helping you respond more calmly and thoughtfully to stress and emotional triggers.
Person-Centered Therapy
Creates a warm, respectful space where you are truly seen, heard, and supported as the expert of your own life.
Experiential Therapy
Helps you connect more deeply with your emotions and body through practical, present-moment experiences.
